Many years ago, in the green fields of La Habra, California, a postman named Rudolph Hass came upon a great discovery.
He had found the mother tree that produced the MOST delicious avocados.
He gave the tree his name and took cuttings from its branches to make more trees, and soon he had a whole bunch of avocados.
He shared the fruit with his neighbours, and his village, and it was VERY popular.
The Hass avocado grew to be the worlds favourite variety, and it still is today, thanks to a postman and his avocado tree.
